To begin, let me say, that this app is a good idea in theory but horribly in execution. 1. This app has persistent glitches, like the adding “Location” in uploaded photos. It really works. I just resort to adding location in the “Tags” section. Even if the location was added in the photo before being uploaded the location will be blank. 2. Scammers!!! I get ton of scammers asking to chat on off app messaging sites, like what’s app or signal. It’s frustrating! 3. Last yet very important, is this algorithm. I’m not claiming to be a world class photographer but most of my photos have been deemed not worthy for market sale. I’ve seen the photos of the very popular photographers/contributors and I can say that most of my best photos are as good a their mediocre ones. I’ve seen photos that are dark, gloomy or basic be approved for sale. My mediocre photos, that have just as good lighting or better, rejected. Just has good focus & subject, rejected. There’s no rhyme or reason to what gets rejected. Flower/plants photos, rejected. Popular contributors flower/plant photos, approved. It doesn’t make sense. 4. I have seen or heard any one make money from this app. If this app was more transparent and set clear guidelines and could show the top earners, it would go a long way to improve confidence in the app.

Lately there are nothing but spam accounts following my account! At least once a day I have to block yet another account offering to purchase photos through an outside source.

Entertaining and fun app

Immediately after joining and loading one photo for sale I started receiving messages and emails from other users attempting to purchase outside of the platform. They all have the same verbiage and graphics. Platform indicates you must have a real name, support has not caught that these names are long, rambling sentences pitching offers to supposedly buy your photos. Support slow to respond to my complaint. Not recommended!

EyeEm is a great platform for sharing photos, but it’s not without its pros and cons. Personally, I’m not overly concerned about selling my photos—I see the app as a creative outlet to share my perspective and show the world through my eyes. It’s a fantastic way to share glimpses of my life while exploring the unique visions of other photographers. However, EyeEm has room for improvement and some untapped potential. One suggestion would be to create a stronger sense of community focused on constructive feedback. It would be great if users could offer tips and pointers to help each other grow as photographers. Additionally, there’s clearly an algorithm at play when it comes to what gets selected for the marketplace. If EyeEm were more transparent about what criteria hold certain photos back, it could empower users to refine their work and aim higher. This missing element of mentorship and guidance feels like a lost opportunity for both enthusiasts and professionals. The app’s editing tools are another weak point. The built-in filters are quite basic and, in my opinion, detract from the natural quality of the photos. For a platform that celebrates photography, EyeEm would benefit from offering more sophisticated and subtle editing tools that enhance, rather than overshadow, the original images. A more frustrating issue is the constant barrage of spammers. I frequently receive messages from individuals claiming they want to buy my photos, often requesting that I contact them through WhatsApp. Many of these users appear to be stealing others’ photos, reposting them under different names but with the same contact numbers. This not only undermines the integrity of the platform but also feels unnecessary since EyeEm handles licensing and sales directly within the EyeEm website. These spammy interactions detract from the experience and make the platform feel less secure. Despite these flaws, I still find value in EyeEm as a space to share and discover photography. With a few key improvements—better editing tools, an emphasis on constructive feedback, greater transparency in the marketplace process, and tighter spam controls—it could evolve into an outstanding platform for photographers at all levels. A bug I have experience: While posting photos, the caption line deletes the last character occasionally when posting multiple photos and I must place a space at the end of the caption if not using punctuation.

The app is fine until it turns off while uploading your photos for entry and you ca not select multiple photos to be uploaded. It takes a few tries to upload one photo, that’s very time consuming when this is suppose to be a simple matter.Other than that navigation through the app is fine, view others photos and following others is great.

I’ve been logged into my account since 2019 and now some reason I am not logged in and unable to reset my password, I’ve tried everything and I’ve sent emails asking why I’m no longer logged in. Please fix this issue!

So I recently just made an account on this app while I was trying to upload an edit my first photos it kicked me out more than once it would not allow me to finish the photos. I would write in the caption and then I would press done on my keyboard and it would kick me out, I think this has some bugs and it really needs to be fixed. I came on this app with the full intention of selling some of my photos that I have taken as an amateur 18 year old photographer. However, I had to delete my account because it kept kicking me out and not letting me finish uploading my photos.

Awesome product very easy to use

I just got back into Photography and this app is perfect for me to see where my skills are from where I I left off. And pictures others post on here are incredible and I love the fact that they make you get permission from anyone who is fixing you may post up my best friend picture who let me take his pictures and they ask me to get his permission. This app is awesome. I highly recommend recommended!

I have a passion for photography but as a mom I have little time and this app is just perfect for the busy lifestyle I have. It allows me to create a profile and put some of my photos out there and that helps me get feedback so I can learn and grown in the spare time

I truly enjoy the app, although I haven’t made any money, I enjoy uploading pictures and searching for creativity within myself. A nice change.

been using this app for YEARS and its absolutely the best. miss the old filters tho

This people is fraudulent, after years of use they made disappear all my photos and my account with an unsustainable excuse and with no proof, they can close your account but they keep your photos and who knows what they can do with it??? The also promote a possible business with a phantom marker that pay, when the pay, just coins for your job. BE ADVISED AND TURN AWAY FROM EYEEM!!

Love the editing option on this app but it needs a MAJOR update. closes out on me right in the middle of editing or attempting to upload… rarely able to submit anything anything due to it shutting down the app randomly

Nice app, but if a photographer is below the payout threshold for photos sold, they have to specifically request the payout and can only do so within some fixed time period in December. And the payouts “expire” (EyeEm keeps the money) after a certain period of time. And, this information is somewhat hidden on their site. More transparency and more of an effort to pay photographers is very much needed. Payouts shouldn’t expire.

I am not happy to allow the AI to be trained on my photos. Removing all my photos now.

When I select my photos to upload and edit, they seem normal but when I select a filter they crop my photo and there’s a huge black block at the bottom…

I uploaded the App, loaded photos and to me they were incredible pics. Alas NONE WERE APPROVED ! It’s all hype for really NOTHING, except likes from other photographers..😞

Can't Log in with Facebook

Every time I try to post a picture it crashes the app

Can’t log in with Facebook and therefore can’t upload photos because that’s how I log into my account. It’s been this way for far too long! Guess this is another service I can’t use anymore because you obviously don’t care about fixing it. So disappointed in the developers.

I have just begun and everything that I see all the beautiful pictures. It’s just amazing how you can flip beautiful pictures and exploring all over the world.

This app has become very buggy. Also it won’t let you upload the photos. Also not enough missions to earn money. Please update & fix this app please. I’ll change the ratings once this app gets updated or fixed. Thank you.

I really like the app! I’m trying to learn how to do some Photography to make money for school and for the further because I’m a nerd and I like money so…

Basically title. It’s impossible to upload anything or get a response from their team. It also seems from other reviews that they don’t payout anymore but still sell your work. Very sketchy.

As much as I love this app I have only one issue. Why are there hardly ever any missions?

This website doesn’t seem to be running anymore.

For whatever reason they rejected every photo I put up for market and these are high quality photos and compared to several other photos on this app that make it to market, way better. Will never recommend or use this group again

there is a problem close to one year tell now , and not been fixed , when i uploaded any photo , it just crashed , and exit the app . i hated too much cause i spend more than 5 year using this app , every time theree is a problem it still there and not fixed

They stopped payouts in October 2022. Every time I write in I get a boiler plate nonresponse about how busy they are with the companies new owners. It’s not a lot of money but it’s still theft and breach of contract. EDIT: stopped getting any responses in January 2023 but they kept selling my work and didn’t honor take down notices. EDIT: June 2023: still nothing. Don’t trust these thieves you won’t get what they owe you for sales. Seeing my work in publications without credit and without getting paid for it, the fraud still hasn’t gotten any justice.

No longer works since the latest iPhone update. Hopefully the developers will have an update soon. I see they haven’t done one for over a year. It a shame I really liked this app.

Such a wonderful platform for me to share my art, and my passion, which is photography and which is creating masterpieces using my camera. Thank you please enjoy my work.

I love this app I feel like I can be comfortable here and really show of my love for photography soon as I started post people immediately start interacting and letting me know about different missions and ways to make money but still I have only just started but I will let you guys know if there is any hick ups
